The founder of Fisher Masonry is John Fisher. He has the following background:
1990. Graduated from William and Mary University in Virginia.
1996. Started building masonry heaters i New England, USA. His first mentor was Albie Barden of Maine Wood Heat Company. He worked as an apprentice for about three years.
Setting a jack arch. Colebrook, New Hampshire, USA.
1997. Joined the MHA (Masonry Heater Association of North America). Met Heikki Hyytiainen in North Carolina.
1998. Heikki Hyytiainen designade Rosendals Trädgård's wood-fired oven in Stockholm. John came to Sweden together with americans Tom Trout and Doug Wood, and Dutchman Fetze Tigchelaar to build the oven at Heikki's invitation.

1999. Became the sixth heater mason to be certified in the MHA's new program. Started his own company, Fisher Masonry Heaters.
2000. Moved to Sweden for the sake of love and started learning to build tile stoves with Stefan Murare i Sävsjö. "Kakelugn" was his first swedish word.
2001. Moved from Småland to Gothenburg and started working as a chimney repairman with Arne Samuelsson of "Skorstensfolket".
2002. Got a job with E.Henriksson and sons building tile stoves. Learned a lot from stove builder Sten Eriksson.
2005. Started his own company in Sweden, Fisher Mureri. Was invited to Japan together with americans Jerry Frisch, Rod Zander, and Gary Hart to build three masonry heaters for Hikari Fukazawa and Takezo Nozaki in Iwate Prefecture. It was an exchange between the MHA and the newly formed MHJ (Masonry Heater Association of Japan).
